#BibleLesson Expressions of Faith - Favorite Bible Stories - April 17, 2022
The class met on Easter Sunday. The lesson was not on Easter events. Class members offered the following. Below the photo is part of the discussion of all we had time for.
- The stone was moved AWAY from the tumb, not merely rolled to one side and exposing the opening.
- The stone was too large to be moved by one person.
- People looked into the tomb. Jesus did not look out because He was gone.
Genesis 15; Luke 22 - Covenants
- The Passover in Genesis and the Satar meal (Last Supper) by Jesus.
- Rituals focused on the seriousness of what they mean.
Isaiah 9:1-17 - Foretelling the Messiah
- Example of God's goodness toward each of us.
Mark 4:30 - Musterd See Description
- Smallest seed but a large plant
- What God wants us to do through Him.
Acts 16:31 - Paul and Silas in Prison
- Outsiders and other men in prison saw this situation as a worst-case scenario.
- Show that we can have good attitudes during bad times with God's help.
- Helps us believe in Jesus.
John 8 - Adultress and Pious Jews
- No one can accuse us.
- We must live as individuals with Christ.
Acts 2 and Joel 2 - Pentecost
- Joel prophesized the coming of the Holy Spirit.
- Acts records the fulfillment of that prophecy.
1Kings 17:8+ - Widow's Flour and Oil
- The woman is not hopeful, but she does what the prophet requests
- Regardless of the situation, doing what God tells us to do is always the best choice.
