Expressions of Faith. Hebrews 6. An Anchor

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
 Hebrews 6:19

An Anchor

Boats need anchors.

  • Not when they’re tied safely to a dock.
  • Anchors are for when the boat is alone in deep water.

When sailors wait too long to drop the anchor, disaster often strikes the boat. See Acts 27:27-41 for an example from Paul’s life.

Hope is our anchor.

God gives hope to those in need, especially when we find ourselves in deep water with no port in sight.

HOPE—the anchor for our souls—is firm and secure.
With HOPE, we can weather any storm that comes our way.

Don’t wait.
Accept the hope God offers.
