#BibleLesson Timeless Truths Disrupted Life-Part 2
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”
Acts 16:25-28
Paul and Silas find themselves ROCKED to their foundations.
They are trying to do god, but life is opposing them.
DARKNESS IS THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT
Paul and Silas in a light that cannot be humans cannot put out.
Your light shines for Christ and His glory.
God’s timing doesn’t depend on calendars or clocks.
ON THE BORDER BETWEEN TODAY AND TOMORROW
Jesus represents something “counter” to the established norms. He changes the balance of power.
We live in the balance of reality of today and the potential of tomorrow.
Paul and Silas could have talked to each other, complained, worried, prayed for themselves, or given up.
Instead, they prayed and sang hymns to God so all the prisoners could hear.
“SUDDENLY” IN YOUR WORLD, BUT “PLANNED” IN GOD’S
What appears to be a sudden act by God is really part of His plan.
God is waiting on your behalf.
Pain might be present, but grace is present, too.
GOD WILL OPEN DOORS FOR ALL
The prison doors open for all prisoners, not just Paul and Silas.
You don’t need more self-confidence, you need God filling your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
