Expressions of Faith: Maturation
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.
(1 Peter 1:14 NIV)
Maturation
Parents all hope their kids will "grow up." Barring some genetic defect serious infection, catastrophic injury, or death, all kids mature physically.
Most grow up mentally and emotionally, as well.
Spiritual maturity is more elusive. It requires a willingness to reject conforming to evil desires.
That's not possible if we live in ignorance.
Fortunately, when we live as obedient children of our Heavenly Father, we don't live in ignorance.
Thank you, Father, for allowing me the opportunity to be your child.
