Timeless Truths: Body Building - The Reward, Part 4c

The inspiration for this Bonus Body Building principle came from two university students in Moorhead, Minnesota. They painted a mural on the wall outside their dormitory room. 

According to USA Today, it showed a school of fish all swimming in the same direction except for a single fish heading the opposite way. The one fish was intended to be the age-old symbol for Christ. 

Printed on the mural were the words of this Bonus Body Building Principle!

#5: GO AGAINST the FLOW!

University officials, arguing that that the mural might offend non-Christians, ordered the students to paint over it. That didn't change the student's purpose or the meaning of the words.

What does Scripture says about the importance of our employment in the Kingdom.

“For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done.” 

Matthew 16:27

If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 

1 Corinthians 3:14

“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.” 

Revelation 22:12

The practice of the world, and too often the practice in the church is 

• to go with the flow
• don’t get involved
• don’t take any risks.

Jesus on the other hand would tell us 

• to rock the boat
• climb out on a limb
• go against the flow.

The question is

Whose voice are we more in tune with, the voice of the world or the voice of our Savior?

What better time for a question like this than the Thursday before Christmas?

As you open your Christmas presents this year, consider the gift God gave you by sending His only Son to live as a human. By doing that, God allowed Jesus to experience humanity--every good and bad part of us.

As you consider what God gave you, make the decision to tune into the voice of the Savior.
