Expressions of Faith: Reconciled

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation
(Colossians 1:22 NIV)

Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the new-born King!
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled.”
Above is the first standard of the Christmas Carol, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”
  • The new-born King aspect is the emphasis at Christmas, and rightly so.
  • However, the reconciliation aspect is an eternal benefit.

Merriam-Webster defines Reconcile
1a: to restore to friendship or harmony
reconciled the factions
1b: SETTLERESOLVE
reconcile differences

God wants to reconcile with each of us.
  • That means he wants to restore His harmonious friendship with YOU.

While it is your choice to reconcile with Him, we do not make the first move.
  • Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross provides the pathway of reconciliation.
  • God wants to be eternal friends (reconciled) with you.
  • When you reconcile with God, reconciliation radically improves your spiritual condition.
  • Where you were a sinner, reconciled sinners are clean and blameless in God’s sight.

Now is the time for you to choose to reconcile with God.

Remember, He made the first move in Bethlehem on the first Christmas.
