whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.  Hebrews 1:2b-3

The writer of Hebrews provides seven descriptive statements on the greatness of Christ.

1.             Appointed heir of all things.
Jesus is the heir to God’s estate!

2.            Through whom He made the universe.

3.            Radiance of God’s glory.
Sunlight cannot be separated from the sun.
Neither can Christ be separated from God.

4.            The exact representation of His [God’s] being.
Not a copy or even an expensive imitation,
Christ is the real deal.

5.            Sustaining all things.
More than a caretaker for us, Christ sustains us.

6.            Provided propitiation for sins.
He willingly accepted the cross so
we can find favor with God through His act.

7.            Sat down at the right hand of Majesty in heaven.
Redemption is complete.
Christ is ruling now.
