#BibleLesson Timeless Truths. Isn't there something else I can do?
22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.[a]) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
There the Lord issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test. 26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Exodus 15:22-26
- You have lived in spiritual deserts in your life.
Isreal responds by grumbling because there is no water and their life in general.
- Moses responds interestingly.
- He does not bail.
Verse 26.
God's response goes beyond providing for their needs and declaring that He is "the Lord who heals you."
- The people needed and wanted water for their physical needs.
- God's response deals with their spiritual need.
How often have you looked for things that cannot heal rather than for the healing God can provide?
THE POWER OF HEALING
He who heals has enormous power.- When you believe something can heal, you grant it tremendous power.
He who heals makes a difference.
- You do your job to make a difference or to make money
God promises to keep Isreal free of disease IF they listen to His voice.
Moses did not abandon the Israelites because his calling is so positive.
- When God calls you, you're called to live your life to make a difference.
By declaring Himself "Healer," God is calling all of Israel.
- You are not a teacher, an accountant, etc., called by God.
- You are a Christian who happens to be a teacher, an accountant, etc.
Sometimes you get a call but you don't want that call.
But, there is something different about God's call.
God wants to heal you.
