Expressions of Faith: Chosen
This is the first Expressions of Faith blog from 1st Peter
who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
(1 Peter 1:2 NIV)
Chosen
Most of the time we want to be chosen for our skill or expertise. Not here. Peter says we are chosen to be obedient.
But that must not be easy because it requires sanctification by the Holy Spirit to qualify.
If God also has foreknowledge of who is chosen, who does that include?
I'd like to think that’s all who are sanctified.
