#BibleStudy Study Questions from James Ch 1 on 6/7/2020
I was not in class last week. Questions discussed last week are shaded blue. If I can get discussion notes from someone, I'll post them along with this week's questions today and discussion on Wednesday.
For as many Sundays as needed, my Sunday school class will explore the context and content of the practical content of the Letter from James.
Questions discussed are posted on Monday and a sampling of the discussion of each question is posted the Wednesday of that week. That will continue with minor cosmetic adjustments.
If this is your first experience with my blogs, I invite you to copy and paste the questions into a word.docx and fill in blanks or answer questions before next week. We rarely do more than 6 or 8 questions in a given week.
I hope you'll explore this practical book along with us.
I'll post our answers on Wednesday.

Chapter 2
Verses 1-13
V1-13: What is the main point of this passage?
Which of the three "tests" from 1:26-27 does he seem to be elaborating?
V1-8: How would you classify the people who come to our church?
What reasons does James give for not showing favoritism to the rich?
How did Jesus treat the poor - how can we model that?
What is the "royal law" and why is it called that?
Who is currently leading the attack against Christians/Christianity - has much changed over the centuries?
How did Jesus treat the poor - how can we model that?
WE GOT THIS FAR THIS WEEK.
V8-13: Why does breaking one law make us guilty of breaking the whole thing?
Does James 2:12-13 contradict the idea that believers will be judged by mercy and grace rather than strict justice and the Law?
What does James say will happen to those who fail to show mercy on the needy?
V14-26: Compare James, John, Paul, and Jesus sayings about faith.
James
Paul
John
Jesus
Does Paul disagree with James in Romans 13:8-10, Gal 5:22-25, and Phil 2:12-13?
