Below are highlights from this week’s class discussion.

 

Miracle #8 – A Sick Woman Touches Jesus – Mark 5:24-34

 

“Jesus kept looking around…” What’s the significance of that?

• He was searching for the woman and hoped she would acknowledge what she did.

Jesus calls her “Daughter.” What’s the significance of that?

• A daughter is  part of a family. It indicates that the woman was not an outcast any longer.
• Jesus was acknowledging her faith.

What healed the woman? 

• Her faith.

What is the root word for that?

• It’s the word for salvation and savior.

What other words are from that root?

• Spiritual and physical healing.

What does “Go in peace” mean?

Be: 

• Complete.
• Part of God’s family.
• Restored.

 

BONUS THOUGHTS THIS WEEK

 

We considered what the woman did before she touched Jesus.

• She took a BIG risk.
• Did the woman announce her uncleanliness?
• Jewish tradition indicates she crawled to Jesus on her hands and knees.

I like this version best. It shows the dirt and the woman's hand looks worn.
