Expressions of Faith. Hebrews Ch 4. Sympathy

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

 Hebrews 4:15

Sympathy

Jesus acts as the High Priest acted in the time of Moses, but with more . . .

 Earthly High Priests

• Were the only ones allowed in the Holy of Holies.
• Even then, the visit was an annual event.

Jesus

• Sits at the right hand of God.
• Lives in the true Holy of Holies.

We bring petitions, complaints, and other prayers to Christ.

Regardless of the petition, He understands our prayer and our motivation for that prayer.

Christ sympathizes with us because of His time on Earth.

The experiences He had in that life included every type of temptation.

Rejoice in the sympathetic nature of Christ.
