Expressions of Faith. Hebrews Ch 5. Deal Gently

Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.
 Hebrews 5:1-3
Deal Gently

The focus of these verses is the role of the High Priest.
Few people in history ever filled that role in the Jewish tradition.

I will never be a High Priest.
Chances are, neither will you.

Regardless of that, take a look at verse 2
deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.

This is sound advice for all Christians, not just a select few, regardless of their title.
We all know people who know little about God and salvation—those ignorant of God’s love.
If we trust in God, we can avoid or overcome going away situations in our own lives and help others overcome theirs—those going astray.
God offer us chances to deal gently with individuals whatever their situations.

Take Christ up on His offer.
Deal gently with someone today.
