Expressions of Faith. Hebrews 13. Don’t Forget to Do Good

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
 Hebrews 13:15-16

Don’t Forget to Do Good

What’s the last thing you forgot to do?

I forgot to close the lid on our coffee maker this morning. Fortunately, the hot water trickled back into the reservoir and not all over the counter.

I closed the top and the coffee got made. Whew!

I know I’ve forgotten to do good before. That’s not a good thing coming from lips that openly profess his [Jesus'] name.

How can we avoid this type of forgetfulness?

The answer begins in verse 15.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—

When we are praising God, it’s easy to remember to do the things of God, doing good included.

But, even if you praise God, I don’t think doing good is automatic.
Doing good requires open eyes, open hearts, and a willing spirit.

Sometime today practice verse 16.
. . . do good and to share with others . . .

That means you’re going to need to look around for someone in need.
You can do it . . .
Through Jesus
