My Sunday school class/Life Group is studying the book of Acts. I posted these questions this Monday and encouraged you to jot your thoughts down.

Chapter 11

Who is Agabus?

A prophet from Judea--Jerusalem

What does he do?

Prophesied about Saul and famine in Judea. 
His prophecy about Saul is similar to that of Ananias.

About what year is this?

Claudius reigned from about AD41 - AD54. Paul's first missionary journey (Acts 13-14) was AD46-48.

What is the Antioch church response to this?

The Antioch church was nicknamed "mission church" by the "home church" in Jerusalem. It was known for its generosity.
They took an offering and trusted Saul and Barnabas to deliver it to the church in Jerusalem.

Is this the same King Herod the wise men came to see?
No. That was Herod "The Great."

This is King Herod Agrippa I. He's from the line of Herods that reigned during the late BC and early AD years. 

What do we know about the James mentioned here?
This is John's brother, a Son of Zebedee. They were known as the "Sons of Thunder."
The James who authored the Book of James is Jesus' half-brother.

What’s another name for “Feast of Unleavened Bread”? 
Passover.
