Miracle #4 – Healing a Paralytic – Mark 2:1-12

Where in the Old Testament does the title “Son of Man” refer to Jesus?

  • Daniel 7:13-14
  • Many times in Ezekiel.
  • Numbers 23:19

How many times can you find where the title is used that way? Include references.

  • It’s the final reconciliation of God and humanity.
  • Mark 8:30-31 – In place of humanity.
  • Luke 2:69-70
  • Hebrews 1:5
  • It appears 81 times in the Greek version and is only used by Jesus. He used it in place of the term Messiah to focus people on his spiritual kingdom for all and not the Jewish idea of an earthly kingdom for them.
  • In Act 7:56, Stephen uses the term when he is being stoned.

Where in Jesus' ministry is, “I tell you” (v11), used A LOT?

  • Sermon on the mount.

What’s the significance?

  • Others vs. Jesus
  • “The Law” vs. Jesus

Some significant people from the beginning of this Scripture passage are not mentioned after v4.

Is that fair?

  • They had faith and didn’t care about glory.

How would you feel about that if you were one of those folks?

  • It’s helping a friend, not to get a reward.
  • They probably stayed on the roof to see the healing.

Were they amazed? Explain.

  • The last verse says “everyone” was amazed.
  • Probably, they loved their friend.
