Miracle #7 – Healing a Man Possessed by Many Demons – Mark 1:1-20

What/Who is an example of a criminal that you, and/or the media considered as demon-possessed. Why?

Example 

1. Jim Jones
2. Charles Manson
3. Hitler

Why?

1. Kicked out of the clergy.
2. Number and severity of the crimes.
3. Many people thought he was “crazy” by the end of his life.

Why did the town’s people beg Jesus to leave?

• He destroyed 2000 pigs.
• Fear of Him sending demons, not just casting them out.
• Fear and Panic cause people to act in unnatural, often irrational ways.

Are all events labeled demonic caused by demons? Explain.

• Probably not. It depends a lot on who is diagnosing.
• Is Satan ever fully responsible for the “the devil made me do it” excuse?

Compare the changes in this man by Jesus to your conversion?

We looked at "public figures" together and left the individual reflection to time alone.

• Paul is close to the degree of change as in Legion.
• One of Manson’s crew became a Christian and worked with inmates.
• The author of “Amazing Grace” was a slave trader before his conversion.
