Where is "a house of prayer"  in the OT? 

• The Temple

Isaiah 56:7

New International Version

7 these I will bring to my holy mountain
    and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
    will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
    a house of prayer for all nations.”

What's going on in that passage?

• Salvation is for gentiles, too.
• Jesus calls all nations to turn to God. 

Given Jewish Temple protocols, how could the Temple be a place of prayer for all nations?

• "Herod's Temple," the one in Jesus' Day, had separate "courts" for Gentiles, Lepers, and Women. Although this sounds like equality, only the Jewish portion of the Temple was considered clean for sacrifices.

What part of Jeremiah 7:11 is quoted in this passage? 

• Den of Robbers

How do the circumstances compare?

• The situation is similar, but it's a prophet not the Son of God.

What’s the difference between “chief priests” and “teachers of the law?”

• Think of it like "The Supreme Court" and the "Local Courts."
• Teachers delt with people.
• Priests were supposed to be serving God at all times.
