 Knowledge
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,
Colossians 1:9  
In the second part of verse 9, Paul describes how we become knowledgeable of God's will. 

  • You can’t buy it.
  • You don’t inherit it.
  • It is not magic.
  • It is not a onetime event.

It is prayer.

Paul continually asks God to fill the Colossians with knowledge the Holy Spirit provides:
  • Wisdom—to know something is both valuable and from God
  • Understanding—beyond knowing the what, but also knowing the importance, of what comes from God. 

There is a catch.

This is a gift from the Holy Spirit.

God gives knowledge of His will THROUGH wisdom and understanding given by the Holy Spirit.

It is up to you to be attentive to the Spirit . . .
through prayer!
