#BibleLesson. Timeless Truths. He is HERE

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20 – NLT

A first-hand, face-to-face encounter with the risen Savior was the primary reason for the radical transformation of the apostles.

INTRODUCTION

  • The old gospel song says: “I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today.” We celebrate the fact that this Jesus, who love so long ago, is alive today.
  • The question is: Where is Jesus today?
  • Physically, He’s seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. But, his is also with you
  • Not just in memory.
  • Not just metaphorically.
  • In a very real, literal sense, He is with you.
  • This means you can encounter His presence every day of your life… because He is with you… always!

So, how do you encounter the presence of the risen and liven Christ every day in your life?

YOU ENCOUNTER HIS PRESENCE THROUGH THE FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

  • This is the second reason for the disciple’s transformation.
(See: Acts 1:5,8 & John 14:15,18)
  • The Holy Spirit dwells in your spirit.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit every day to “top off my tank!”

YOU ENCOUNTER HIS PRESENCE THROUGH THE FELLOWSHIP/COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS.

(See: Matthew 18:20 & Psalm 22:3)

  • This works with as few as two or three when Christians come together.
  • When you gather in God’s name, He is there!
  • God inhabits the praises of His people. You don’t have to wait for Him.

YOU ENCOUNTER HIS PRESENCE THROUGH THOSE WHO NEED YOUR MINISTRY.

(See: Matthew 25:3-40 & John 14:6)

  • Jesus was moved with compassion when He encountered needy people.
  • When you minister to the needy—A PERSON IN NEED—you minister to God.
  • You will encounter Jesus this week disguised as A PERSON IN NEED.
  • You need advanced knowledge of His presence every day.
  • Remind yourself that He is there with you.
  • How are you going to respond to His presence when you have a chance to minister?

NOW READ THE SAME TEXT PERSONALIZED BELOW.

  • When I minister to the needy—A PERSON IN NEEDI minister to God.
  • I will encounter Jesus this week disguised as A PERSON IN NEED.
  • I need advanced knowledge of His presence every day.
  • Remind MYself that He is there with ME.
  • How am I going to respond to His presence when I have a chance to minister?
