Expressions of Faith. Hebrews Ch 9. Once for All
He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 9:12-14
Once for All
The Jewish High Priest entered the Holy of Holies only once each year.
He used blood from animal sacrifices as a cleansing agent.
That process was good for only OUTWARD cleansing.
When Christ entered the Holy of Holies, He brought with Him the power of His own blood. Cleansing by the blood of Christ is INWARD, cleansing “our consciences from acts that lead to death.”
Outward cleansing is always temporary.
If you don’t believe that, you’ve never washed your car!
You can be made INWARDLY clean FOREVER by accepting the sacrifice Christ made for you.
Only then can you rightly
“serve the living God!”
“serve the living God!”
